Meet Jacob Wilson.

After his father’s death Jacob
lived with his sister, Jessica Wilson, birth
mother, Jackie Robinson, and his step father Dorsey Robinson. But it wasn’t
always that way.
Until recently, Jacob lived with his father, J.T. Wilson.
J.T., his step-mother Corina, his step-sister
Sabrina, her husband Robert and their five year old daughter Corina. Jacob was
surrounded by a loving family, and an extended family of Aunts, Uncles, Cousins
and friends. He was an honor roll student for his beloved father. But that all
collapsed when his father died on January 25, 1997. On January 27, 1997, Jackie
called Jacob and told him to pack his belongings, she was picking him up on
Friday.
He buried his father on January 29, 1997.
He told her he was happy where he was at and didn’t want to live with her. When
he refused to leave with her on January 31, 1997, Jackie’s told me I had no
right to her f$#@$#@ son, and I would rot in f$#@$#@ hell like my f$#@$#@
brother and physically threatened me. Her husband forced her into the car and
she continued to shout obscenities. When she left he informed us, he would see
us in court on Monday. On Monday February 3, 1997, Corina was served with a
writ of habeaus corpus, in essence to produce Jacob’s body. We thanked the
processes server. We believed the court system would see the justice of
allowing a grieving fourteen year old the right to live in the only home he has
known for six years.
But the courts don’t always work the way they should. Jacob was forced to go
live with his mother. She has to date, refused to allow him contact with his
family, and friends. He has communicated, secretly, that he is being locked in
the house, where the only way out is through a bedroom window. He has been
threatened physically and is being abused mentally.
Jacob trusted in the law and the court system, and they failed him. Jacob could
use your letters of support. Perhaps soon, if his mother will allow it we will
be able to afford a computer for him. So far she refuses to allow him access to
the computer for fear he will contact me through email. We continue to work to
secure his release.
